We would like to inform you of ongoing weather‑related disruptions affecting Kruger National Park (SANParks) and several private reserves within the Greater Kruger Region. Continuous rainfall has caused flooding, swollen rivers, and road damage, resulting in restricted access and operational challenges across multiple areas.
Current Closures & Access Restrictions
- Day visitation to Kruger National Park remains suspended until further notice.
- Entry is limited to essential vehicles, airport transfers (with confirmed flights), and guests with overnight bookings at Berg-en-Dal, Pretoriuskop, and Skukuza.
- Northern regions of the park are currently inaccessible due to flooding and damaged roads.
- Satara Rest Camp is closed after flooding affected staff accommodation.
- Several private reserves are experiencing intermittent road closures, flooded river crossings, and restricted internal movement.
Impact on Activities
Due to safety considerations and rapidly changing conditions:
- Game drives, bush walks, and other guided activities may be delayed, altered, or suspended at short notice.
- Transfers may require rerouting, and in some cases, flight alternatives may be necessary if road access becomes unsafe.
- Guests should expect possible disruptions to planned activities over the coming days.

Weather conditions and accessibility are being monitored continuously by SANParks, private reserve management teams, and local authorities. Updates may change frequently as assessments are made and safety protocols are applied.
