SOSSUSVLEI
Sossusvlei is one of the Africa’s most popular natural attractions, with its impressive red sand dunes that surround the white salt and clay pan.
Why Visit
Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes and located in the Namib Desert, is possibly Namibia’s most spectacular and best-known attraction. Sossusvlei, in short, is a large, white, salt and clay pan, known mostly for the surrounding dunes reaching up to 400m high, some of the highest in the world.
Deadvlei, or “dead marsh”, sits amongst the dunes, a forest frozen in time. Deadvlei is a clay pan known for its dark, dead camel thron trees and white pan floor. This natural attraction is located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, the largest conservation area in Africa.
