In a bold move set to revolutionize travel between Europe and South Africa, Norse Atlantic Airways has launched a game-changing direct route from London Gatwick to Cape Town. This exciting development comes hand-in-hand with an innovative marketing campaign that’s turning heads on the streets of London.
Picture this: You’re navigating the bustling streets of London when a sleek black cab, adorned with vibrant Cape Town imagery, glides past. It’s not just a taxi; it’s a portal to your next adventure. This eye-catching spectacle is part of the “Choose Cape Town” campaign, a joint initiative between the City of Cape Town and Norse Atlantic Airways.
James Vos, Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, unveiled this creative campaign, which will see 40 of London’s iconic black cabs transformed into mobile billboards for the Mother City. The timing is impeccable, coinciding with the World Travel Market in London from November 5-7, ensuring maximum exposure to industry professionals and travel enthusiasts alike.
But it’s not just about catching eyes; it’s about capturing hearts and bookings. Each cab is equipped with a QR code, allowing passengers to seamlessly book their Cape Town adventure right from the backseat. It’s a direct conversion mechanism that’s as innovative as it is effective.
Norse Atlantic Airways is at the forefront of this travel revolution, offering thrice-weekly flights between London Gatwick and Cape Town during the peak season, starting October 28. Bård Nordhagen, Chief Commercial Officer for Norse Atlantic Airways, shared his excitement: “Since launching ticket sales for this new route, it has quickly become one of our most popular destinations.”
This new route is part of a broader expansion of flights between the two cities. British Airways is set to increase its service to double daily flights by the end of October, with a third daily flight added in January. Virgin Atlantic is also upping the ante, extending its daily service until April 30 next year.
For those ready to answer Cape Town’s call, enticing travel packages are on offer. Imagine eight days of pure indulgence with the “Eat.Stay.Play” package, featuring seven nights at the luxurious Pullman Cape Town, daily breakfast, private airport transfers, and a smorgasbord of experiences including the famous Hop-on Hop-off bus, Cape Point & Penguin Explorer Tour, and a choice between the Cape Winelands Explorer or Franschhoek Wine Tram Explorer Tour.
Alternatively, the “EsCape to the Cape” package offers a comprehensive taste of the region, including city tours, a Table Mountain Cableway experience, and explorations of the stunning Cape Peninsula and Winelands.
As London’s black cabs carry the message of Cape Town’s wonders through its streets, they’re not just advertising a destination; they’re inviting travelers to embark on a journey of discovery, adventure, and unforgettable experiences. With easier access than ever before, Cape Town is poised to welcome a new wave of visitors ready to explore its diverse landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality.
